New Products (with a giveaway)!

Hi everyone!  Seems that people everywhere are having extreme weather - there's the snow and ice across the US, and here in Queensland we've been having a serious heatwave that's resulted in some big electrical storms.  Today I woke up to a crack of thunder, and it's been storming all day since, which is quite odd.  There was just a story on the news that said that flying foxes have literally been dropping from the sky with exhaustion because it's so hot! The heat and then the rain have made it really easy to be a homebody and stay inside, so I've been putting together a few products that I'm going to get ready to use with my Preppies when the new school year starts in a few weeks.

To help my kidlets with their upper and lowercase letter recognition with some phonics practise thrown in for good measure I made these 3 piece puzzles.  There's both colour and black and white versions in the file, so if you're conscious of saving ink and want to print them to coloured card there's that option for you.

Of course, I'll be using the Queensland print version. :)

Because I was in a puzzling mood, I made some number puzzles also.  They've got numerals, number words, ten frames and pictures.

Last but not least, I was inspired by the story, The Gingerbread Man to make a sight word card game called Run, Run!.  The idea is simple - kidlets draw a card, read the word (as fast as they can!) and keep it if they read it correctly.  If their card shows the gingerbread man saying 'Can't catch me!' this acts as a freebie that they can keep, but if they draw a 'Run, run!' card featuring that tricky fox, all of their cards go back into the pile.  The kidlet with the most cards at the end wins. :)

You can grab this in Dolch Pre-PrimerPrimer and First Grade - the cards are colour coded so you can mix and match the words cards to suit the words your kidlets need to work on.

Well folks, time for the giveaway.  Just leave me a comment with your email (make sure you follow my TpT store) and let me know which product you'd like.  I'll come back on Wednesday evening to pick 3 winners and send you the product of your choice.  Good luck! :)

Congrats to Cherie, Kirra and Bec - check your email for your prizes! (On another note... numbers 1, 2 and 3 doesn't seem like too much of a random number selection from random.org! Oh well, all's fair in love and giveaways.) :)

The BIG Sale... and a new product or two!

I guess by now you've heard about TpT's BIG Cyber Monday and Tuesday sale?  My wishlist is ready to go and I'll be grabbing a few bargains.  My store will be 20% off during the sale, and with the promo code CYBER you'll save a total of 28%!

Last night I added a super fun new sight word game that would be great if you are needing something quick and easy to give your classroom some Christmas spirit!  It's called 'Naughty or Nice' and you can grab it in Dolch Pre-Primer, Primer or First Grade versions.  Full price they are $2.50 - but in the sale will be cheap as chips at $1.80!

I also added new versions of my 'Sweet Treats' sight word games.  The originals were in Queensland font which is very unhelpful for lots you (they're still there for my Sunshine State friends)!  They are now available in a cute print:

I've got some more cute Christmas themed resources if you're gearing up for the holiday season, and my playdough mats will be a real bargain in the sale.

Happy shopping everyone!! :)

Five for Friday?

Hi all!  No Five for Friday for me today. :( I left my camera at a friend's place earlier in the week and haven't taken any photos on my phone so I have nothing to show for a whole week in Canada with my lovebird. Waah!

While Chris has been at work I've been spending some time trying to decide how to re-vamp my sight word wall back in my classroom.  I'm wondering whether I should turn it into more of a general word wall and include spelling words and words that pop up all the time in the kidlets' writing (beach, friend, Australia Zoo etc.).  With that in mind I've made two word wall header sets.  I'm leaning towards using the rainbow one in my room, but I do love the chalkboard style because it has a gorgeous teal detail.

Pop by my TpT store if you are in need of an update too - they are in Queensland Script. :)

I hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing break from school, either snuggling under blankets in Australia or enjoying the Summer here in the Northern Hemisphere!

April 'Currently'!

April already? Surely not! I'm linking up with Farley for her April 'Currently' to share what's happening here at the beach!

Listening - Things sure do get busy around here at holiday time!  There's a whole heap of families on holidays in the complexes nearby and right now a heap of them are walking past my place to the restaurants by the water. It's such a nice spot to sit, chat and have a glass of wine with your meal.

Loving - My Canadian lovebird Chris arrived on Good Friday and is here with me for just over 2 weeks. :) Today we went to Australia Zoo, tomorrow we're heading to Noosa and we're off to Sydney next week. It is the most wonderful thing in the world to have him here.

Thinking - We're off to see Oz tonight and I am super excited!!

Wanting - If you live near the Sunshine Coast you NEED to get yourself to San Churro for a Spanish hot chocolate.  It's pretty much melted chocolate and is to-die-for! One of them with a churro dipped in Dulche de Leche (thick caramel) sauce is absolute heaven.

Needing - Wouldn't it be great if the number of days spent on holidays outnumbered those spent at work?  Wishful thinking, I know!

Advice - Life is so busy. Spend some time doing the things you love and being with the people who make your life wonderful.  (I cheated a bit - I don't sell or create to sell and am so new to blogging that I thought a bit of general life advice would be better. :)

Hope all of my Aussie friends are enjoying your holidays, and that those in other places had a great Easter break that refreshed you for a terrific week at school!
